Easy Fall Decorating Ideas
When it comes to seasonal decorating, I’m big on taking cues from nature—especially when adding touches of Fall to our home. It’s one of my favorite seasons for bringing the outdoors in, and Mother Nature (as well as your local farmer’s market) has lots of inspiration to offer. Here are some of my favorite easy Fall decorating ideas:
For a quick tabletop accessory, place a collection of acorns in a pretty bowl. (My kids love to go on “nature walks” around our yard and collect them for me.) Acorns also make great fillers for glass hurricanes and candle holders.
There’s no need to spend money on fresh flowers this time of year. Branches make the perfect centerpiece. In years past, I’ve also collected bare branches from our yard and sprayed them white for a pretty mantle display.
I love this simple Fall garland made with just pinecones, spray paint and twine. Adding an unexpected color is a fun way to use elements of nature in your decor.
Fall apples are another great way to bring in pretty color. Fill large glass apothecary jars or a pretty wooden bowl for an easy (and edible!) accessory. I like to take them out of the kitchen and use them on my mantel or coffee table.
Pumpkins are an obvious Fall decorating choice, but they don’t have to stay orange. Painted pumpkins are everywhere you look this year and are an easy project. I like the glam look of these, made using glitter and metallic spray paint. Perfect for a Fall party!
What’s your favorite way to bring Fall into your home?
