About Kim Nowell

Kim is the Chief People Officer on the executive leadership team here at Oreck, but at home she’s wife to Donny and mom to Thom and Sam. Monday through Friday, she makes it through the day with the help of a triple venti skinny vanilla latte and a great sense of humor. Then at five (or sometimes a little after!), Kim leaves the office for an evening run with her husband, some retail therapy at J. Crew or a DVRed episode of Boardwalk Empire (sometimes with a vodka tonic in hand). Follow Kim’s series to learn from a real working mom how she balances board meetings during the day and baseball games at night.

As a working mom, I think the question we all get the most is “How do you do it all?” The truth is—no working mom does it all. She does a lot, but the key to “doing it all” is prioritization, time management and enlisting the help of your family.   Source: jenniferjohner.typepad.com ...

Balancing work and personal time with my family isn’t always easy. I struggle with trying to be all things to all people all the time—unrealistic, I know! There are times when I have to make really tough choices. Do I go to the 10,000th baseball game of the season… or do I prep for an important...
